As a history major and lifelong military history enthusiast, I have always found MHQ to be one of the most accessible and thorough publications on the market. The articles are meticulously researched and are rich with maps and illustrations that never detract from the article itself, unlike in some glossy magazines. While the article subjects bounce around between time periods within the same issue, no issue is without something of interest. I subscribe to the hardbound version of the magazine since it lasts longer and is bereft of the advertising that plagues most magazines, but the articles are what makes this publication worth its price.    Permalink
