I had paid for a one year subscription to People Magazine. The check had cleared the bank for the payment, but to my surprise, I received a very nasty notice saying they were going to send me over to collections for nonpayment. Then I called the 1-800 customer service number which was totally automated and decided to cancel my subscription. Never again will I subscribe to People or even buy a copy in the store for such nasty customer service on billing, especially since I paid in advance for a service I have yet to receive!!!
